About AFOSA

The Agua Fria Open Space Alliance, Inc. was founded in Dewey, Arizona in 2006.  The organization incorporated in 2007, and in 2008 received I.R.S. recognition as a tax-exempt nonprofit charity under section 501 (c)(3). of the U. S. Tax Code.  Contributions are tax exempt.

 

AFOSA is concerned with understanding the physical and biological components of open space in the Agua Fria River Basin, providing public education, and encouraging effective management.  Click for more about AFOSA (.pdf)

 

Natural History of the Agua Fria River Basin     

The attached .pdf file provides a brief introduction to some of the important natural-history characteristics of the Agua Fria River Basin.  Maps showing the distribution of various features of the Basin have been produced by the U. S. Department of Agriculture Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS).  The maps and the attached introduction can be opened in separate windows by clicking below.
